Participation Tickets: 4th-6th
How do participation tickets work?
Speaking in another language can make us feel out of our comfort zone at times. Participation tickets are meant to encourage students to use as much of the target language as they are able to use when responding to questions, asking questions or acting out skits. Students know that they will make mistakes. After all, that's part of the learning process. Students also know that when they apply themselves and make the conscious effort to try to use the target language, their skills and confidence will improve.
Daily Individual RewardsStudents will earn tickets when applying themselves and using as much of the target language paired with the gestures assigned to our vocabulary, as they are able to use.

Quarterly RewardsAt the end of each quarter, I will add up the cumulative number of tickets that each 4th, 5th and 6th grade class has earned all quarter long. Any class that has earned at least 100 tickets for any quarter, will get to participate in a reward day, when they come to Spanish class the following week.
**Any parent volunteer that would like to come and help count tickets is welcome on Friday, October 25th, which is our half-day. I'd really appreciate any help I could get, because your children will be earning HUGE amounts of tickets for participation. |
End of the Year RewardOne class from each grade level that has the greatest cumulative tickets from the entire year, will win a piñata filled with candy. The class will enjoy the piñata during their regularly scheduled Spanish class during the last week of school.
